Date | Time:  Tuesday March 25, 2025 | 1:00 to 1:30 pm Eastern Time (ET)

This presentation will provide a comprehensive understanding of the Kids' Club and Mother's Empowerment (KCME) Program and will review the impacts and outcomes of the program. The goal of the project was to deliver and evaluate the evidence-based intervention KCME program, designed for children aged 6 to 12 who have been exposed to family violence in New Brunswick. This health promotion initiative specifically targets the impacts of family violence on rural francophone children in the Beausejour region, urban anglophone children from Greater Fredericton, and newcomer children from both catchment areas. The project aims to deepen the understanding of childhood exposure to family violence among these populations through a Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) and a needs assessment. Findings will be shared as well as challenges, successes and sustainability plans.

Learning objectives:

  1. To develop a comprehensive understanding of the KCME program, including its goals, structure, and key components.
  2. To explore the impacts and outcomes of the program on participants and the broader community.
  3. To examine the challenges faced, successes achieved, and sustainability plans in place to ensure the program’s long-term effectiveness.
