The P.E.A.C.E Project (Peer Education and Connection through Empowerment)

Covenant House developed and evaluated an intervention for youth between the ages of 16 and 24 in Toronto, Ontario who have experienced sexual exploitation and homelessness. Participants worked together in peer-led support groups to develop and implement activities to support their mental, physical and social health as they transition from sexual exploitation to independence. Themes that are explored include: healthy relationships, self-esteem and body image, and healthy living.

"P.E.A.C.E. Program offers a safer space for women-identifying and femme youth who have experienced violence to come together, find a voice, be heard, and use shared experience & knowledge to raise awareness and promote change within the group and community." ~ P.E.A.C.E. Project Peer Mentors

A framework and manual for delivering the program are available in the resources section.
