Innovations in Addressing Gender-Based Violence and Trauma and Violence-Informed Health Promotion: A National Conference

Knowledge Hub Presents Conference: Innovations in Addressing Gender-Based Violence and Trauma and Violence-Informed Health Promotion.
This bilingual conference will share innovative programs and research on trauma-and violence-informed health promotion in the gender-based violence sector from the Public Health Agency of Canada’s “Preventing and Addressing Family Violence: The Health Perspective” investment.

Conference programming will include interactive workshops, creative sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Topics include: arts-based interventions for healing and empowerment, trauma-informed parenting and family programming, trauma and violence-informed health promotion, collaborative and intersectional strategies addressing intimate partner violence, traumatic brain injuries, and systemic inequities, digital and virtual innovations, and promoting healthy relationships and preventing violence.

Call for Posters & Mini-Presentations  

We are excited to invite submissions for Posters and Mini-Presentations in English and French.

About the Call: 

We are seeking dynamic and impactful poster and mini-presentation submissions that showcase: 

  • Innovative programs, interventions, or policies addressing GBV 
  • Research findings related to trauma-informed and violence-informed practices 
  • Community-driven strategies and partnerships 
  • Emerging trends, tools, and resources 
  • Lessons learned from implementation and evaluation efforts 

Submission Categories: 

  1. Posters: Visually presented research, projects, or initiatives. Ideal for sharing key findings, models, or resources in a concise, engaging format. 
  1. Mini-Presentations: Short, focused oral presentations (5-7 minutes) highlighting innovative projects, practice-based insights, or emerging research. 

 

Who Should Submit: 

We welcome submissions from individuals and organizations across sectors, including healthcare, social services, academia, public health, education, justice, and community organizations, especially those with lived experience or working directly with marginalized communities. 

Important Dates: 

  • Submission Deadline: April 30th  
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 1st
